Mass Media Scholarship

Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia is now offering a new program of study for those interested in Mass Media. This program will provide hands-on career training in Mass Media. H-LSAMP Minority Participation

Houston Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (H-LSAMP) is an academic excellence program designed for outstanding high school students, who are interested in pursuing degrees in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The only three majors supported directly are chemistry, computer science, and mathematics.

Fiscal value of each award are as follow:

$15,000 per year (Valedictorian)

$14,000 per year (Salutatorian)

$2,000 - $9,000 per year

The Montgomery Public Library has databases of interest to BTW students*. In order to access the databases users must have a Montgomery City-County Public Library (MCCPL) card. Next he/she must go to http://www.mccpl.lib.al.us/ and click on "databases." Then scroll down until the listing of databases appears at the bottom of the screen. Two databases that may be appealing to BTW students are the Learning Express Library and the Ferguson Career Center.

The Learning Express Library database provides links for high school improvement, college preparation (including ACT, PSAT, and SAT practices tests), and practice tests for careers (e.g., LSAT for future lawyers).

The Ferguson Career Guidance Center database offers detailed information about job and industry profiles, job-hunting and workplace skills, career and industry resources for obtaining a job, and college planning and financial aid.

*September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. Students who do not have a Montgomery City County Public Library (MCCPL)card mayrequest a formfrom the BTW Library that will be submitted to the public library to get a card for the student or a student may visit the public library and request a card. The card is FREE if this is the student's first request for a card.There is a $2.00 fee to replace a lost card. There is no charge to renew a card.
